2016 was a great year for drawing on the sidewalk, as this overstuffed gallery page will attest. I might separate these out into different locations and purposes (e.g. Ann Arbor Summer Festival, stuff I drew in Ohio, etc.), especially if people complain that this is too hard to browse. In the meantime, enjoy the underfoot chaos!

John Legend reached the status worthy of his last name this weekend when he became a member of the elite EGOT club. The famous singer made history by winning an Emmy for NBC’s  Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert . He became the first black man to reach EGOT status after adding an Emmy to his already full trophy shelf. Legend’s first Grammy victory came in 2006 when he collected awards for Best New Artist, Best R&B Album and Best Male R&B Vocal Performance. It was just the beginning of his amazing run since he received additional seven awards in the years to come. Legend had to wait a little bit longer for the rest of his EGOT victories. ISLA FISHER JOINS SATIRICAL BRITISH COMEDY “GREED”

Isla Fisher starred alongside many comedy legends in the past, but she’s taking things to a new level in  Greed . The star of  Wedding Crashers just joined this promising project, which features a couple of equally hilarious cast members. Greed  was described as a satirical take on the world of the super-rich, focusing on a ruthless, perma-tanned and self-absorbed retail clothing billionaire. Steve Coogan will play this immoral businessman, who’s hired a mild-mannered journalist to chronicle his life story. Greed  also stars David Mitchell ( Peep Show ) and Sacha Baron Cohen ( Borat ). Isla Fisher will join them in the role of billionaire’s wife. She’s the only person who truly understands him and all his complexities. Fisher’s recent credits include cult sitcom  Arrested Development  and buddy comedy  Tag . This British comedy will start shooting later this year in Europe. “THE MARVELOUS MRS. MAISEL“ LEADS THE WAY AT THE 2018 EMMY AWARDS

This year’s Emmy ceremony was filled with dozens of amazing moments, but absolute domination of  The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel  was the one that took everyone by surprise. Amazon’s series about a 1950s housewife who turns to stand-up comedy took home five shinny statues, including the Emmy for best comedy series. Game of Thrones scored big win in the best drama category, for the third time in the past four years. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel  came out victorious in almost all of the categories it was nominated in last night. Rachel Brosnahan and Alex Borstein picked up awards for best lead and supporting actress in a comedy series. Showrunner Amy Sherman-Palladino received Emmys for both directing and writing the pilot of this hilarious period piece. The masterminds behind  The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story  also had a reason to celebrate.
