FIRST LOOK AT JOAQUIN PHOENIX IN STANDALONE JOKER MOVIE

Standalone Joker movie is one of the most anticipated superhero flicks right now, and the director Todd Philips just added some fuel to the fire. He shared first photo of Joaquin Phoenix as popular super villain, before the madness kicked in. This sneak peek may come as a disappointment to some fan since it’s just Joaquin Phoenix being Joaquin Phoenix, but there’s so much more to it. It shows the Joker before undergoing his transformation to the white skin, green hair and ruby lips of Batman’s famed nemesis. This photo proves Philips and Phoenix will take a different approach to this character, and explore his human side. Caption on this photo simply read “Arthur”, confirming the real name of the Clown Prince of Crime. His green jacket is the only significant nod to Joker’s signature color palette, and a sign of monster lurking within. This year’s Emmy ceremony was filled with dozens of amazing moments, but absolute domination of  The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel  was the one that took everyone by surprise. Amazon’s series about a 1950s housewife who turns to stand-up comedy took home five shinny statues, including the Emmy for best comedy series. Game of Thrones scored big win in the best drama category, for the third time in the past four years. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel  came out victorious in almost all of the categories it was nominated in last night. Rachel Brosnahan and Alex Borstein picked up awards for best lead and supporting actress in a comedy series. Showrunner Amy Sherman-Palladino received Emmys for both directing and writing the pilot of this hilarious period piece.
