This year’s Emmy ceremony was filled with dozens of amazing moments, but absolute domination of  The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel  was the one that took everyone by surprise. Amazon’s series about a 1950s housewife who turns to stand-up comedy took home five shinny statues, including the Emmy for best comedy series. Game of Thrones scored big win in the best drama category, for the third time in the past four years. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel  came out victorious in almost all of the categories it was nominated in last night. Rachel Brosnahan and Alex Borstein picked up awards for best lead and supporting actress in a comedy series. Showrunner Amy Sherman-Palladino received Emmys for both directing and writing the pilot of this hilarious period piece. The masterminds behind  The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story  also had a reason to celebrate. Isla Fisher starred alongside many comedy legends in the past, but she’s taking things to a new level in  Greed . The star of  Wedding Crashers just joined this promising project, which features a couple of equally hilarious cast members. Greed  was described as a satirical take on the world of the super-rich, focusing on a ruthless, perma-tanned and self-absorbed retail clothing billionaire. Steve Coogan will play this immoral businessman, who’s hired a mild-mannered journalist to chronicle his life story. Greed  also stars David Mitchell ( Peep Show ) and Sacha Baron Cohen ( Borat ). Isla Fisher will join them in the role of billionaire’s wife. She’s the only person who truly understands him and all his complexities. Fisher’s recent credits include cult sitcom  Arrested Development  and buddy comedy  Tag . This British comedy will start shooting later this year in Europe. Zachary Quinto played a couple of scary characters in his day, but he’s just started preparing for his creepiest role to date. The  Star Trek  actor has just been cast as the lead in AMC horror series  NOS4A2 . If you’re having a hard time decoding this weird series of letter and numbers, let’s just say Quinto’s new project is pronounced ‘Nosferatu’, but shares little connection with this cult horror film. NOS4A2 actually takes place in a magical place called Christmasland, where every day is Christmas and unhappiness is against the law. Sounds jolly until you find out this happy-go-lucky realm was created by Charlie Manx, a seductive immortal who feeds off the souls of children. The upcoming horror series is expected to premiere in 2019. It’s based on the novel of the same name by Joe Hill and it will be created by Jami O’Brien, who can’t wait to bring it to life on the small screen. Standalone Joker movie is one of the most anticipated superhero flicks right now, and the director Todd Philips just added some fuel to the fire. He shared first photo of Joaquin Phoenix as popular super villain, before the madness kicked in. This sneak peek may come as a disappointment to some fan since it’s just Joaquin Phoenix being Joaquin Phoenix, but there’s so much more to it. It shows the Joker before undergoing his transformation to the white skin, green hair and ruby lips of Batman’s famed nemesis. This photo proves Philips and Phoenix will take a different approach to this character, and explore his human side. Caption on this photo simply read “Arthur”, confirming the real name of the Clown Prince of Crime. His green jacket is the only significant nod to Joker’s signature color palette, and a sign of monster lurking within. Henry Cavill became a household name thanks to the role of Superman, but his tenure as the Man of Steel is coming to an end. The British actor is ready to hang up his cape and wave goodbye to the character that made him famous. Cavill made his debut as Clark Kent in  Man of Steel  and reprised the role in  Batman v. Superman  and  Justice League . His contract was coming to a closure, and his future in the DC Universe became uncertain after it became clear the studio isn’t planning to make a stand-alone  Superman  movie any time soon. Contract negotiations led to Cavill’s departure from the struggling superhero franchise, and he’s not the only one jumping ship. Ben Affleck is another hero on his way out, and it’s highly unlikely he’ll reprise his role in the upcoming  Batman  stand-alone film. American Music Awards are less than a month away, and if you still don’t know who you’re rooting for – now’s the time to make a pick. The list of nominations just came out and Cardi B and Drake are leading the way, with eight nominations each. These two artists are having the most amazing year ever, and it’s impossible to think of a music awards ceremony where they weren’t present. Cardi B and Drake will go head to head in several categories at the American Music Awards this year, including Video of the Year and Favorite Hip-Hop Artist. Ed Sheeran and Post Malone are right behind them, with six nominations each. Both artists will be competing against Drake in the main category – Artist of the Year. They’ll also have a strong competition in Taylor Swift, who received four nominations thanks to her last studio album  Reputation . Halle Berry is a woman of many talents, and she’s always in the mood for new adventures. The Oscar winner will play the lead in the MMA drama  Bruised , but she’ll also be sitting in the director’s chair once this exciting project starts shooting. Berry’s directorial debut centers on Jackie Justice, a disgraced MMA fighter who’s plotting her big comeback. After her 6-year-old son Manny walks back into her life, years after she abandoned him, Jackie decides to make a change and conquer her demons. She gets ready to face one of the fiercest rising stars of the MMA world and become the mother her kid deserves. Relative newcomer Michelle Rosenfarb wrote the script for  Bruised , which should start filming in March. Dancing with the Stars  will keep the music going during season 27 with the brand-new cast of celebrity guests. The list of stars competing for the coveted Mirror Ball trophy has just been announced and it includes some pretty impressive names. One of the biggest stars joining the new season is Evanna Lynch, who played Luna Lovegood in the  Harry Potter  films. She’s not the only child star joining this hit talent show. Milo Manheim, who rose to prominence thanks the to Disney Channel original movie  Zombies , is this season’s youngest contestant. John Legend reached the status worthy of his last name this weekend when he became a member of the elite EGOT club. The famous singer made history by winning an Emmy for NBC’s  Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert . He became the first black man to reach EGOT status after adding an Emmy to his already full trophy shelf. Legend’s first Grammy victory came in 2006 when he collected awards for Best New Artist, Best R&B Album and Best Male R&B Vocal Performance. It was just the beginning of his amazing run since he received additional seven awards in the years to come. Legend had to wait a little bit longer for the rest of his EGOT victories. He accepted Ava DuVernay’s invitation to write a song for her historical drama  Selma . Katherine Langford is done playing Hannah Baker, but that doesn’t mean her professional relationship with Netflix is over. The rising star just landed the lead role in their upcoming series  Cursed , based on the eponymous book by Frank Miller and Tom Wheeler. Langford rose to prominence thanks to the role in teen drama  13 Reasons Why,  one of Netflix’s most talked-about shows to date. She decided to leave the series after two seasons because she felt that was enough to fully tell Hannah’s story. The Prime time Emmy award ceremony isn’t taking place until September 17, but that didn’t stop the creative masterminds behind our favorite TV shows from scoring big wins ahead of time. Creative Arts Emmy Awards took place over the course of two nights this weekend, and  Game of Thrones  and  Saturday Night Live  went home with seven prizes each. HBO epic series took the throne thanks to winning several technical awards, but some of the victories made by  SNL  carried more weight. Tiffany Haddish collected an award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for hosting one of the most memorable episodes last season. Emmy voters also expressed their admiration for the late Anthony Bourdain by giving five shinny statues to his CNN show  Parts Unknown . The first reviews for The Predator are in and they’re viciously mediocre. Shane Black’s reboot promised to bring us predators that are “stronger, smarter and deadlier” than ever before. 31 years after the original, reviews confirm that the predators have certainly evolved. The writing and execution of the concept, on the other hand, seems to have done the opposite. Variety brutally slated the film, concluding that Predator is: “an exhaustingly energetic mess in which a coherent plot and credible characters aren’t even on the cluttered menu.” The critics at Digital Spy, on the other hand, pointed out that the film was flawed but at least allowed that the movie is ‘fun’ in spite of this: “Half-heartedly tapping into some ‘hot-topic issues’, it’s sometimes silly and doesn’t show us much we haven’t seen before, but it’s rarely boring… The Predator is a flawed actioner, but a strong cast and some Shane Black magic give it a sparkle that has been lacking from recent attempts to rev

When fashion reality competition series Project Runway returns for season 17, it might not be the same show you’ve been watching and loving. Supermodel Heidi Klum, who served as the host and a judge on this reality show since it premiered in 2004, and Tim Gunn, who served as a mentor for the competitors, recently announced that they are both leaving Project Runway. But don’t worry, the duo will be back soon on television. According to Klum, both she and Gunn will partner with Amazon for a new fashion show which will be available on their streaming service Prime Video. “After 16 incredible seasons, I am saying ‘Auf Wiedersehen’ to Project Runway, a show that I was honored to host and help create,” – Klum said in a statement. “I am incredibly proud of the show, and it will always have a special place in my heart. I am so appreciative of the dedicated fans, and most of all, I am grateful that we could shine a light on creativity and help launch so many talented designers’ careers.
