We Tested 7 Odor-Removing Hacks To Freshen Up Your Stinky Winter Boots
When the weather outside is frightful, our winter boots are often all that stands between our toes and frostbite.
While our boots certainly do a good job at keeping us warm, they do an equally good job at becoming extremely stinky over time. We’ve all rejoiced in the relief of taking off our heavy boots — only to have a foul odor waft up from our footwear.
No one is immune to this issue, but there are certain measures you can take to freshen up your boots and remove their unpleasant smell. To find out what’s the best hack for de-stinking winter boots, we put seven different methods to the test.
We tried orange peels, a rice and baking soda combination, dryer sheets, baking soda, a peppermint oil and water solution, newspaper, and rice with essential oils.
To test all of the hacks, we recruited seven equally stinky pairs of winter boots. Each pair was given a different deodorizing method and left for 24 hours so the solution could work its magic.
Some of the hacks might sound a little silly, but they all possess potentially redeeming qualities as to why they might work.
After a whole day, LittleThings host Cassie took up the brave task of sniffing each boot to assess the effectiveness of each hack.
Of course, not all stinky winter boot solutions were created equal. Check out which one is the winner by watching the video below!
