‘NSYNC REUNITE TO RECEIVE HOLLYWOOD WALK OF FAME STAR
It’s been more than 2 decades since ‘NSYNC released their debut single, “I Want You Back,” and today, the band has been inducted onto the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Lance Bass, Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick were all smiles in front of hundreds of cheering fans, as they reunited to receive the star on Hollywood Boulevard Monday morning. The five members thanked their loved ones, who were by their sides through thick and thin. “Our moms and dads have really been there – y’all are the MPV,” Timberlake expressed. “They’re the reason that we were able to be where we were in the world and specifically for my mom, for the first couple of years that we were touring the world, I was a minor, which sounds crazy! And she was there every step of the way, so Mom, thank you so much.” “And now to my beautiful wife, who’s here today and who’s now the mother of our beautiful son, I love you so much,” he added. TV host Ellen DeGeneres kicked off the event by describing what ‘NSYNC means. “’NSYNC of course is short for kitchen sink,” she joked. “Of course, the band is made up of the cute one, the bad boy, the sensitive one, the sexy one … and Joey.” “They stole the hearts of teenage girls everywhere and some curious boys,” she continued. “There is a reason you’re being honored today – your music is a soundtrack to a generation.” After leaving the podium, JC, who previously thanked the band’s late collaborator, Robin Wiley, ran back to the mic to say, “In case you’ve forgotten, tomorrow, it’s gonna be May!” in reference to the group’s 2000 hit, “It’s Gonna Be Me,” which spawned a popular meme that appears every May 1. This is the first time the band has reunited since the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards. The guys performed a medley of their hits in honor of JT winning the VideoVanguard/Michael Jackson award that year.
